MyHealthcare Clinic runs an extensive Travel Clinic open 6 days a week with the full range of vaccinations for both adults and children. Our clinics hold most vaccines in stock year round and can administer them straight away during your consultation.

As some courses of vaccination may take up to 8 weeks, we recommend you visit us at least 8 weeks prior to departure, however this is highly dependent on the travel vaccines required.

Which Travel Vaccines are necessary for the UK?

Travel vaccines are a series of immunisations that travellers can get before visiting certain countries in the world, which will prevent them from getting common illnesses or diseases. The vaccines which are recommended or required when travelling to (or living in) the UK are: Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Rabies, Meningitis, Polio, Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR), TDP (Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis), Chickenpox, Shingles, Pneumonia and Influenza.

Are travel vaccines mandatory in the UK?

No travel vaccine is mandatory in the UK. Although, when travelling to certain countries outside the UK some vaccines are recommended if not required. Getting vaccinated will help keep you safe and healthy while you’re traveling. It will also help make sure that you don’t bring any serious diseases home to your family, friends, and community. You can find out more information on recommended travel vaccines for our top destinations here.

Which travel vaccines do I need?

The vaccines you need to get before traveling will depend on a number of factors, these may include:

    1. Where you are travelling to, as some countries require proof of vaccination for certain diseases.
    2. Your health or medical history. If you’re pregnant or have a weakened immune system, you may need additional doses of certain vaccines.
    3. Where you are staying. If you are going to stay in rural or underdeveloped areas for a long amount of time, you may be at higher risk to certain illnesses, and therefore you may need more doses of the vaccines. We would be advised to seek your doctor’s advice to know exactly what you need according to these specific guidelines.
