Private GP Appointments in London

A private GP is a healthcare professional who provides medical services on a private basis outside of the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK.

The decision to see a private GP depends on individual preferences and needs. Private GP services can be beneficial in several ways. They often offer shorter waiting times, convenient appointment scheduling, and longer consultations, allowing for more in-depth discussions of health concerns.

Our London private GP appointments cost between £55 and £235, depending on the type of consultation you choose and the length of the appointment.

Virtual consultations:

£55 for 15 minutes

£115 for 30 minutes

£175 for 45 minutes

£215 for 60 minutes

In-person consultations:

£75 for 15 minutes

£135 for 30 minutes

£195 for 45 minutes

£235 for 60 minutes

When booking an appointment, you can choose a 15-minute, 30-minute, 45-minute, or 60-minute time slot. The best option will depend on the purpose of your appointment and the symptoms you are experiencing. 

We recommend 15-minute appointments if you want to speak to a GP about a single health concern, discuss test results, or are booking a repeat appointment.

30-minute appointments are recommended for your first appointment, or if you would like to discuss multiple concerns with your GP. 

If you would like more discussion time with your GP, or have complex concerns, we would recommend booking a 45-minute appointment. 

60-minute appointments are suitable if you have multiple concerns, are experiencing complex symptoms, or would like a longer GP consultation.

We recommend using our easy online booking platform to book a suitable appointment at one of our London clinics. If you are not able to use this platform, you can also call or email us.

We no longer complete forms for marathons, sporting events, or other physical activities. These must be completed by a sports medicine doctor.

Yes, we offer same-day private GP consultations across our London clinics, subject to availability.

Opening times vary by clinic:

• Balham: Monday to Friday, 8 am–6 pm. Closed weekends.
• Chiswick: Monday, Tuesday and Friday, 8 am–5:30 pm. Thursday, 8 am–6 pm. Closed Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
• Clapham:  Monday and Tuesday, 8 am–7 pm. Wednesday to Friday, 8 am–6 pm. Saturday, 9 am–3 pm. Closed Sundays.
• Fulham: Monday to Friday, 8 am–6 pm. Saturday, 9 am–3 pm. Closed Sundays.
• Marylebone (The London Clinic, Harley Street): Monday and Tuesday, 2 pm–6 pm. Wednesday, 9 am–1 pm. Thursday, 10 am–5 pm. Friday, 1 pm–5 pm. Closed weekends.
• Swiss Cottage: Monday to Friday, 8 am–6 pm. Closed weekends.

Appointments can be booked 24/7, regardless of opening hours. Same-day doctor appointments are available across our London clinics where slots allow.

Our Clapham and Fulham clinics are open on Saturdays between 9 am and 3 pm. All of our clinics are closed on Sundays.

Not at all! While most patients choose to join one of our membership plans, you can still use all our services as a non-member and simply pay our list price (see fees guide).

Absolutely! Patients have access to all our clinics and are free to book into whichever one they wish. While most of our services are available at all clinics, a few specialist services (e.g. ultrasound) may only be available at certain locations. Speak to reception to find out more.

We are able to deal with your urgent medical problems and provide same-day appointments; however, in a medical emergency, please call 999.

If your GP feels that you need to be referred to a specialist, we can refer you to a private provider of your choosing. Our team can assist in choosing the best provider for you. We cannot refer you to NHS secondary care, but we can write to your NHS GP and advise they make the referral for you.

You can cancel or amend your appointment up to 24 hours before the time it is scheduled for. If you would like to cancel or amend your appointment less than 24 hours in advance, it will be at our discretion to amend the appointment or offer a full or partial refund.

We do not charge extra for referral letters or issuing prescriptions. You will have to pay for the cost of your medication; however, for common medications, this will be equivalent or not much more than the standard NHS Prescription charge you would pay if you are non-exempt.

Please provide us with at least 24 hours notice if you need to change your appointment. You can do this by emailing or calling us.

If you miss your phone or video consultation, then you will need to book another appointment and an additional fee will be applied.

If there is a particular GP you would like to see, you can request this when you book your appointment. However, depending on that GP’s schedule, this may limit the availability of appointment times we can offer you.

All of our GPs are able to deal with your concerns and will have access to your full appointment history regardless of which GP you have seen previously.

If you are not a member of MyHealthcare Clinic, then we recommend that you give us consent to share the details of your consultation with your regular GP in order for them to provide you with the best care in future; however, it is normally ok for us not to if you would prefer it to be confidential.

In certain circumstances, we may need to contact your GP before prescribing you with medication or if there is a situation where you are at risk of harming yourself or others. You will be informed in both of these circumstances.

• Marylebone: No parking (possible parking after restricted or permit hours).
