Why have dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers are used for facial aesthetic treatments and are injected into the skin. They are designed to effectively reduce the appearance of unwanted wrinkles, contour and create volume, and to revitalise the skin. Dermal fillers are based on Hyaluronic acid which is a substance that naturally exists in your body.

Yes. It is important you research what filler is being used wherever you may end up receiving treatment. At MHC, we ensure only market leading products are offered ensuring patients receive treatments of the highest quality. We offer JUVEDERM and Restylane products only.
JUVÉDERM® is the world’s leading hyaluronic acid or HA facial filler. HA binds to water in your skin which may smooth lines and wrinkles, add volume, and enhance or define facial features.
JUVÉDERM® facial fillers have the ability to integrate with your own facial tissue to get natural-looking results and naturally dissolve in the body over time.
Each JUVÉDERM® facial filler is designed for a particular purpose, whether it is to treat fine or deep lines/folds, restore facial volume for a lifting effect, or reshape and redefine the lips. Your medical aesthetics specialist can suggest several treatments from the JUVÉDERM® range to create a tailored treatment plan for you.
The Restylane brand comprises a collection of hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers that address a variety of skin concerns. These cosmetic injectables help reduce the appearance of wrinkles and facial volume loss. These products work to improve the skin’s appearance for a youthful and refreshed complexion. As well, they aim to revitalize dull and tired looking skin and enhance lip volume, as well as reduce acne scars.
Depending on the area being treated, the treatment usually takes between 20 and 30 minutes, and clients describe it as a tiny scratch as the needle goes in, with a slight stinging sensation as the filler is applied. For those feeling anxious, we can use a local anaesthetic to numb the area completely.
Unlike procedures such as surgical face lifts or implants, dermal fillers require no cuts, incisions or stitches to be made, although the procedure may involve some light pain or discomfort.
No. Our practitioners work like artists, using the natural contours of your face for guidance. Your normal facial expressions will remain unaffected. During your consultation your doctor or nurse will discuss the best plan for you to achieve subtle results.
You may notice some swelling or bruising, with the swelling usually fading within 48 hours and the bruising fading within a fortnight.
Your specialist will check in with you post treatment to ensure and is available to answer any questions that you may have throughout your treatment journey.
Each treatment is planned and delivered to achieve the optimum, natural looking results. Results begin to show immediately after treatment and can last up to 12 months, depending on the product used and the area treated. Lip fillers tend to last for six months.
Over time the semi-permanent dermal fillers will be naturally metabolised by the body, and treatment will need to be repeated in order to achieve the same desired results.
